I am a soon-to-be wife and a full-time step-mother. My 11-year-old young man loves to keep me on my toes with his energy and sense of humor. We are extremely active in our church community and love to spend quality time at home watching Star Wars. Our two doggies, Minnie and Dottie, love to join us on the couch for a snuggle.
I received my bachelor’s degree in Art from Texas Lutheran University in 2010 and am currently a graduate student in the Marriage and Family Therapy program through Abilene Christian University in Dallas, Texas. Although I found my way to therapy in a non-traditional manner, I believe that God has had his hand on my journey to self-discovery. My lifelong passion for lending a helping hand and a listening ear whenever possible contributed to my desire to pursue a career in therapy.
I view therapy as a tool, used by many, who want to learn how to live their best life. I approach counseling as a journey towards something better. I am present as a guide and companion for that journey. My goal is to help people feel that they are in a safe, accepting environment where they will not be judged for their feelings or their behaviors. I want them to feel secure while we walk together and address their challenges and desires for growth. Individuals, couples, and families are welcome. I believe therapy is a way for people to learn more about themselves, work through their challenges, and to achieve their goals for themselves and for their families in a positive and affirming environment.
