Melanie Little is a native of San Antonio. She has been happily married for 18 years. She and her spouse are raising two healthy teenage boys. With many different roles, Melanie has a keen appreciation for attention to life balance and self-care. She enjoys reading a good book and working out as part of her self-care. She also loves watching movies, engaging in outdoor recreation, and having family game nights.
Melanie began studying addiction counseling in 2010 at San Antonio College and quickly found her passion in the counseling world. After becoming a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Melanie obtained her Bachelors in Psychology from Liberty University. She went on to earn a Masters Degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. Melanie specializes in addiction counseling and trauma therapy. She has worked with many adults, young adults, and families. Melanie is EMDR trained and she has studied complex trauma and structural dissociation. She has experienced much success with her treatment of complex trauma, mental illness, and family dysfunction as contributing factors with chemical dependency clients. She is client-centered and believes in meeting the client where they are. Her primary counseling approaches are CBT, DBT, and EMDR, and she takes an existential attitude in all of her work. Melanie has a passion for helping others. She sees her career as a calling and she believes in continual development and growth as a professional in her field.
