Sarah Keen, LPC Associate supervised by Sarah Rivera, LPC-S
Sarah Keen was born and raised in Newtown, PA just outside of Philadelphia. Sarah received her bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University (We Are!). She then went on to receive her master’s degree in Education and Human Development, concentrating in school counseling and mental health therapy, from The George Washington University.
Sarah Keen is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who has previously provided both traditional talk therapy as well as play therapy in schools and private practice. The majority of her professional training has been focused on the school age population, where she has supported children, families, and adolescents. She has vast experience in grief and loss counseling, anxiety, depression, ADHD, behavioral issues, anger management, self-esteem issues, and other everyday client concerns.
Sarah is a National Certified Counselor who utilizes an eclectic solution-focused approach as well as a strength based approach with clients. She works through a multicultural lens and aims to provide a safe and welcoming space for all clients. Sarah is currently working towards her RPT (Registered Play Therapist) credential and focuses her expertise on children exploring emotions through art, sand, and play. She is passionate in the importance of advocating for mental health and continues her efforts through continuing education classes and learning new avenues to assist all her young clients.
When Sarah is not working with clients, she loves spending time with her two dogs, Stella and Daya. Often you can find her enjoying time outside, hiking with her dogs, or watching a good movie!
